Okay, so a while ago I posted a blog about NewsFire RSS reader for the Mac. I loved it and to be honest I still do and I will continue to use it, because it is far and away the best “software” based RSS reader on the market.
Now, I never used Google Reader because it sucked a while back and I heard Matt Cutts make the same mention about this and that it is much better now. So, do I take this lightly seeing as he is a Google employee and pushing Google Products…eh…maybe. But, be that as it may I decided to give it a test run, and to be honest, I really like it. I think my favorite part is the fact that it isn’t a “FAT Client” on my computer that I have to worry about. I am a huge FAN BOY of web based apps and this is now one of my favs now. I will still have to work with it for a while and get all my feeds entered in, but, I think this will probably be replacing Newsfire for me in the near future!
So, check it out (http://www.google.com/reader/)and let me know what you guys think or if you know of any other web based readers that are much better, i’m all for trying new toys!

Okay, for those of you that use Mac OS X read on if you haven’t found a good content syndication reader yet, but for those of you using Windows, stay tuned, I will be posting another blog entry for you folks!
So, a while ago I was told by a friend (James Payne) that I should pick up Newsfire and it is worth the $20 it costs. Well, back then I wasn’t really that intrigued by it, until I realized how much time I was spending going from site to site just to check out my subscriptions, whether its MSDN, Search Engine Watch, etc. I decided it was time to give it a shot and I am pretty amped about it now. I figured it was time to blog about how much I love it!
Why do I love it you ask? Well, first and foremost, I am a sucker for sexy looking apps and just like the site says, its the “Angelina Jolie of applications,” now people, THAT IS SAYING SOMETHING! Also, the ability to have groups is amazingly cool. I love group my technology, sports, etc. RSS feeds into the appropriate group so I know what I am looking at. Finally, podcasting, Newsfire brings podcasting ability to the reader and is fully integrated with iTunes, just a click away.
There is a ton of other functionality like searching feeds and podcasts, smart feeds, etc. But, hands down this is one application I would definitely spend the money on and it saves me a ton of time, and lets face it, in this day and age, time is money!! Three Cheers to Newsfire!!
